T' time (11-18)

2BU Somerset host sessions for young people who may be questioning their identity or who identify as transgender (you do not need to be accompanied by a parent to attend, but we do need emergency contact details).

We would also like to welcome parents/carers (you do not need to be accompanied by a young person to attend).

We know that allowing space to explore emerging identities can be of great benefit to young people’s mental health and wellbeing and where possible 2BU Somerset wishes to bring together as many people in each young person's network to support them.

‘2BU T’ Time' is our response to providing such a space to gain advice and guidance from professionals but also from each other, both for young people from the age of 11 and their parents/ family/carers.

Parents said:

  • "I fear I will do the wrong thing"
  • "I worry about the prejudice out there in the world"
  • "I hope to learn something today so I can best support my whole family"
  • "I just want support with this"'
  • "I might be able to support others".

Whilst young people said:

  • "I hope to meet new friends"
  • “I am worried that people won't recognise my identity"'
  • “I hope my parents can understand me a bit more"
  • "I want to help my parents"
  • "Maybe I can talk about my worries"
  • "I hope to feel valid".

2BU T' Time is a great opportunity to meet and talk to others in a safe and friendly environment. We meet in Taunton on a Saturday morning 10.30-12.30 (six times a year). Dates published via our social media but if you are interested please do contact us
